Gundam 00 Season 2 end

March 31, 2009

gundam00s2

Season 2 was only 25 episodes long, and today I saw the last one. It grieves me that it’s over already, I liked the old Gundam series better where each series was 50 episodes long. Now they’re only 25 so they end a lot faster :(

Anyway, they ended it well by hinting that it wasn’t over yet since there still was work to do for Celestial Being. Then a light was seen on Jupiter followed by the text that a film will come in 2010. It’s still a year left then, until the next continuation of Gundam 00. An eternity. I wonder if the film will be the last of Gundam 00 or if another season might come. If a new season comes, will it still be Gundam 00 or something new again? I’m hoping for a third season, since I like sci-fi that’s got some connection to our world, rather than in some completely different world or somewhere too far into the future.

It would seem that Aeolia Schenbergs prediction of an encounter with another race (which resulted in a huge weapon for protection, but ended up being used against humanity by Ribbons Almark) might come true in the end. It will be interesting to see in the movie if humanity has finally united or if it really takes an alien assault to finally unite us after all their work.

Yotsuba!

yotsuba_sleeping

Ever since Ewelina mentioned Yotsuba, I’ve been thinking of reading the manga. Today I actually did just that. After 6 pages I was totally stuck! Yotsuba is basically a lively girl who does exactly what she feels like, and often misunderstands things (for example, “air conditioners are evil!”). I must encourage everyone to read this! It’s just so much fun! Read the rest of this entry »

Gundam Academy

February 26, 2009

mobile_suit_gundam_seed

The Japanese are incredible! Now they’re going to start the first academy ever based upon an anime/manga!

The academy consists of persons with a lot of different knowledge such as engineers, astrophysicists, doctors, anthropologists, linguists and even town planners are going to join the academy. They will try to make a Mobile Suit Gundam a reality, which I doubt they will. What they might achieve however is new ways of travelling between earth and space. Gundams (some of them) are able to take themselves from earth into space, and then back again. More realistically they’ll probably make reality of a few good ideas for moon and space stations where people can live.

I envy them since they’ll get to do exactly what I’m interested of – space. I like cyborg technology too, I might be able to squeeze that in too. I’d be having the time of my life!

Now then, where do I sign up for the academy?

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle

October 13, 2008

I’ve found an anime series that’s closely connected with xxxHolic, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. I began watching this only because it has something to do with xxHolic and it turned out to be a somewhat good anime. If you’re a fan of xxxHolic, you shouldn’t miss it. It explains a few things of xxxHolic, and tells more about Yuko.

It’s connected to xxxHolic on many occasions in the series, and xxxHolic is connected to Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle on some occasions, for example when Moro and Maru uses Fai’s wand to hit a mat (in xxxHolic) to more concrete actions like when Syaouran and Sakura talks to Yuka (end of xxxHolic: Kei) and it is shown in both Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle as well as in xxxHolic: Kei.

xxxHolic, xxxHolic: Kei

October 13, 2008

About two years ago I watched the first episode of xxxHolic, but I found it annoying how they had drawn the main character Watanuki so I never watched any more than the first episode.

A while back however, I decided to give the anime a second go since so many had spoken well about that anime and I found it very good after watching a few episodes and watched through the whole series in a week or two. Then I downloaded the recently finished xxxHolic:kei and I really found that series very good too, but when it ended there was no more series to watch so I was left there, sad that there wasn’t any more episodes of that anime.

Bleach 189

Ichigo charges in for a final attack on Amagai

At last the new episode came out yesterday and it was a good ending to this story in Soul Society. The battle between Ichigo and Amagai has been going on for a few episodes now and it was ended in a way that I didn’t foresee. I didn’t expect that Amagai would die unless killed by Ichigo, so the turn of events in this episode sure surprised me. This text contains some spoilers, so don’t read if you haven’t seen it yet.

Macross Frontier tour, and MF Nyan-Nyan buns

October 7, 2008

The museum Yokohama Daiseikai in Yokohama, Japan will be selling the trademark tuna buns seen several times in Macross Frontier anime series that recently ended. If you want a bun however, you’d better be there early because they only make 100 buns a day October 11 to October 19.

The concert “Yoko Kanno Presents Macross Frontier Galaxy Tour Final” will be held in Yokohama on October 13. I wish I could be there and listen to all the good music from the anime live at the concert. That would be totally awesome!!!

Weblayout

October 6, 2008

There are people in this world who completely loath all that has to do with Windows, and then there are people who really like Windows, especially Windows XP in this case.
How does a web page layout that looks like Windows XP sound? Interesting? Naw, not really.

http://speedanime.de/cms/modules/news/index.php

What’s interesting on that page however, is that there is an Gundam 00 S2 torrent there! How does that sound? Yeah, now I don’t care too much about the design, since they got what I wanted! :D
Wohoooo!

I just found a funny preview of Gundam 00 second season, where they all are in chibi form! :D

Gundam 00 Season 2

October 6, 2008

At long last, the second season of Gundam 00 has begun airing!

It’s been 4 years since Celestial Being was beaten and those who didn’t die in the battle were scattered. Sesuna waited for the much wanted peace that they had fought for, but that never happened. He watches as the counter terrorist A-LAWS oppresses the people and takes persons of different opinion to labour camps. Enraged, Setsuna decides to help the prisoners by using his Gundam Exia, which is damaged beyond repair since his last battle.

It sure sound interesting, so I can’t wait until the first episode is subbed!
Sadly Macross Frontier ended last week, but now I got Gundam 00 to watch again.

The damaged Exia
